Bharmour, December 7
A Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) bus was flagged off at Dharoul on Friday. With this, the remote Kugti gram panchayat area of Bharmour tribal subdivision in Chamba district has been linked with other parts of the state.
Speaking on the occasion, Bharmour MLA Jia Lal Kapoor said a four-kilometre motorable road from Dharoul to Lahal (Kugti) had been constructed.
Kapoor said the regular HRTC bus service had been introduced from Bharmour to Lahal (Kugti) via Hadsar and Dharoul. He said the road and the bus service linking the difficult far-flung Kugti gram panchayat would benefit a population of around 1,500 residents.
Kapoor said a bridge across Lahal nullah would be ready by April next year for plying direct bus service to the nearby Kugti village. Kapoor said that a sum of Rs 56 lakh would be spent on the construction of a water supply scheme for Kugti area.
