IIT-Mandi’s Technology Business Incubator Catalyst is hosting the third edition of its annual flagship event, Himalayan Startup Trek, on September 14 and 15.
Doctor Puran Singh, faculty in-charge, IIT Mandi catalyst, said the start-ups, innovators and aspiring entrepreneurs could get an opportunity to meet investors/experts. The event aimed at bringing together the stakeholders and providing a platform for young entrepreneurs to forward their ideas for incubation support and to raise funding from investors.
“In the past two years, IIT-Mandi catalyst has disbursed over Rs 1 crore grants to more than 30 start-ups, of which 16 are from Himachal Pradesh. Of these, four start-ups have progressed into the commercialisation phase. These have generated more than 60 employment opportunities,” he added.
“The IIT-Mandi catalyst will pick a handful of start-ups with the most innovative ideas and provide support. The shortlisted candidates will get Rs 16.5 lakh grant. It will be an opportunity for corporate and government organisations to join hands with the catalyst and support initiatives that will benefit the society at large,” he said.
