An Inter-House Model United Nations competition concluded at Pinegrove School, Subathu. The three-day competition saw participants debating on various burning issues. A moderated caucus on the topic ‘Triple Talaq’ was also initiated by the participants. The best delegate award was bagged by Reiya Dutt, the best delegate in the crisis committee was Priyanshi Garg, while Best Policy Paper award went to Sneha Kumari and High Commendation award went to Pratham Gupta. Shubhrattan Negi, Hargun Sachdeva and Divyansh Jain were nominated for special mention. Head teacher Devender Kumar Verma felicitated the executive board as well as the winners of the competition.
Debate at St Bede’s College
The Heritage Club of St Bede’s College “Mirasa” organised a debate and poster-making competition on the eve of Independence Day here on Wednesday. The subject was “Privatisation of Education” and the prize for best speaker was bagged by Simran Kathait of INS Vikas, while Mahima Rathore of INS Vikrant was adjudged as the second best speaker. “Problems faced by the youth today” was the theme of poster making and INS Vikas finished first, followed by INS Himmat .The judges for various competitions were Anuja Sharma, Madhu Parmar and Anupama Tomar, while the overall in-charge of the events was Punam Chauhan Verma.
Totu students win volleyball meet
Government Senior Secondary School, Totu, won the volleyball championship by defeating Government Senior Secondary School, Chhota Shimla, at the Block-level Sports and Athletics Meet. A 26-member contingent of the Totu school participated in kho-kho, kabaddi, badminton, march past and athletics. The winners were honoured in the morning assembly.
BEd counselling schedule
The admission portal will be opened from August 16 to 19 for the third round of BEd counselling. During this duration, candidates can make corrections in application forms (such as stream, category, HP bona fide); can also change the requisite information and write their college preference accordingly. All candidates, who have appeared for the entrance test of BEd-2019, can apply for the third round of online counselling irrespective of the marks obtained in the test, candidates, who are already admitted in any college, may also give their preference for shifting the college in the third round of counselling.
