Industries Minister Mukesh Agnihotri today inaugurated the Beet Area special irrigation scheme in Bathu village of Haroli segment. A sum of Rs 44 crore has been spent to provide irrigation facilities in nine panchayats of the segment. These panchayats are situated on a high altitude and are called the Beet area.
The minister said 1,122 hectares in Singan, Beetan, Kshetran, Dulehar, Bathu, Amrali, Heeran, Sahuwal and Haleda Bilna panchayats would be irrigated. He said about 4,000 farmers would be benefited, adding that it was for the first time that 18 tubewells had been drilled under a single scheme. IPH Chief Engineer Suman Vikrant and Superintending Engineer NM Saini were also present on the occasion.
