Jalandhar youth drowns in Gobind Sagar

Ankit Kumar, a resident of Jalandhar, on Saturday reportedly drowned in the Gobind Sagar reservoir at Kolka village near the Baba Garib Nath temple.

According to police sources, three youths from Jalandhar were returning from the Baba Balak Nath shrine in Hamirpur district and were going to the Naina Devi temple in Bilaspur.

When they reached Kolka village, they decided to take a dip. It is reported that Ankit ventured into the deep water where he drowned. Locals gathered after the friends raised the alarm, but could not rescue the victim.

The police said the services of divers from the Bhakra Beas Management Board had been requisitioned to fish out the body from the reservoir and a case has been registered.
