Jawan’s body recovered from avalanche site after 11 days

SHIMLA: After 11 days of frantic searches, rescue teams of the Army, ITBP and Border Roads Organisation (BRO) on Saturday recovered the body of a jawan, who was missing following an avalanche at Namgia in Kinnaur district on February 20.

After 11 days of frantic searches, rescue teams of the Army, ITBP and Border Roads Organisation (BRO) on Saturday recovered the body of a jawan, who was missing following an avalanche at Namgia in Kinnaur district on February 20.

He has been identified as Rajesh Rishi (25) of Jojghon Jagatpur village in Nalagarh.

The body was brought to Pooh and will be handed over to family members after the post-mortem examination, sources in the Kinnaur district administration said, maintaining that massive search operations were on for locating the bodies of the remaining four jawans.

Those missing include Videsh Chand, Gobind Bahadur, Arjun Kumar and Nitin Rana.
