Kashyap is VC, Atal medical varsity

Doctor Surender Kashyap (Prof) has assumed charge as Vice Chancellor of Atal Medical and Research University, Mandi, at Nerchowk today.

Doctor Surender Kashyap is a physician and teacher per excellence. He was earlier Principal IGMC Shimla, and subsequently Director in Kalpana Chawla Government Medical College, Karnal (Haryana) for the last eight years.

He was welcomed by Doctor Rajnish Pathania, Principal of Sri Lal Bahadur Shastri Government Medical College and Hospital at Nerchowk, Senior Medical Superintendent Devender Kumar Sharma and other faculty members of the medical college.

In his addressing, Vice Chancellor thanked the Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur and Health Minister Vipin Singh Parmar for giving him the opportunity to head this medical university in Mandi. He said that with the cooperation of all, this university will rise to become one of the best in the region and the country.

“I would make every effort for the betterment of this university and my priority will be to make the university fully IT enabled and paperless”, he added.
