Chamba, May 15
The driver of a pick-up vehicle was injured following a landslide near Mangla on the Chamba-Khajjiar road, 8 km from here, on Tuesday evening.
A pockland machine was buried under the debris. A big portion of the road also got washed away.
Deputy Commissioner, Chamba, Harikesh Meena said after receiving information, senior officials rushed to the spot and initiated a relief and rescue operation.
The DC said the injured, identified as Ramesh Kumar, was admitted to the local Government Medical College and Hospital. He had been provided an immediate relief of Rs 5,000.
A unit of the NDRF had been called from Bathinda and it was expected to reach here late in the evening.
