Girls once again outperformed boys as the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced the results of Class X on Monday. The overall pass percentage has increased by 4.40 per cent from 86.70 per cent in 2018 to 91.10 per cent in 2019.

A total of 17,61,078 students from across the country had appeared in the examinations. The pass percentage of girls and boys is 92.45 per cent, 90.14 per cent, respectively. In Loreto Convent School, Shimla, Mala Jain has secured the first position by getting 98.4 per cent marks. The second position (98 per cent) has been shared by Khushi Negi, Sakshi Mohan and Tanisha Sharma. Rhea Rawat has secured the third position with 97.6 per cent marks.

Granav Sood and Vikas Singh Panwar of DAV Public School, New Shimla, have shared the first position by scoring 98.4 per cent, followed by Abhinav Sharma (97.8 per cent), Aadish Sharma (97.2 per cent), Vatsal Sharma (97 per cent), Aradhya Kapoor (96.6 per cent), Sakshan Verma (96.2 per cent), Purvesh Shukla (96 per cent), Aastha Sharma, Ishan Thakur and Riya Sharma (95.8 per cent), Pranavjeey Singh Rathore, Kshitij Kaushal, Saachi Pirta, Tushar Tekta (95.4 per cent); Sarvesh Sharma (95.2 per cent); and Arpit Kanwar, Jasmine and Sarthak (95 per cent).

In Convent of Jesus & Mary, Anjali Sharma emerged as the topper with 98.2 per cent, followed by Neha Singh Chauhan (97.6 per cent), Malika Singh (96.8 per cent), Aayushi Dadwal (96.6 per cent), Navdisha Chauhan (96.2 per cent), Kashish Rana (96 per cent) and Aditi Attri and Gurleen Kaur (95.4 per cent). As many as 42 students scored above 90 per cent.

Arnav Chauhan and Saumay Thakur have emerged as the toppers of St Edward’s School with 97.8 per cent, followed by Saumya Jain (97.2 per cent), Mauryan Thakur (97 per cent), Sahil Kumar (96 per cent), Anubhav Ranta (95.8 per cent), Akhil Mahant (95.4 per cent), Akshun Kuthiala and Kartikay Sharma (95.2 per cent) and Vaibhav Vasudeva (95 per cent).

Shruti Dhiman of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Jakhoo Hills, has secured 98.2 per cent. Devesh Mehta (96.8 percent) secured the first position in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Theog; followed by Shrishti Kaushal (96 per cent) and Najish Asad and Gaurav (95.8 per cent).

Ishita has emerged as the topper of Dayanand Public School, Shimla, by securing 96.4 per cent. Aditi Verma (96.2 per cent) and Abhijay Singh (95.8 per cent) bagged the second and third positions, respectively. A total of 33 students of the school scored above 90 per cent.

In Saraswati Paradise International School, Sanjauli, Prince Verma and Tabassum Prolta bagged the first and second places with 97 per cent and 96.6 per cent, respectively.

In Chapslee School, Shimla, Yuvraj Khanna has bagged the first spot with 96.2 per cent, followed by Sonam Verma and Manas Chauhan 95.6 per cent, Kashish 95.4 per cent and Sona Gupta 95.2 per cent.

In DPS, Jhakri, Shimla, 11 students scored 90 per cent. The school topper was Ananya Manoj Gupta with 95.6 per cent while Aakash Thakur stood second with 95.4 per cent.

Principals and teachers have congratulated the students on their success.
