Malkhambh to be main attraction

Malkhambh, a traditional sport in which a gymnast performs aerial yoga postures and wrestling grips in concert with a vertical stationary or hanging wooden pole, cane, or hanging rope, will be the main attraction at the state-level function on Himachal Day (April 15).
Nearly 50 students from Gurukul, Kurukshetra, will perform their skills.
The game helps improve physical strength, stamina, speed, concentration, patience and neuro-muscular coordination in the body of the player, says Governor Acharya Devvrat, patron of Gurukul, Kurukshetra.
Trainers of Malkhambh at Gurukul, Kurukshetra, said, the students involved in this game were not only physically fit, but also intellectually well and were also performing well in their studies.
