Man held for raping minor daughter

Nurpur, May 14

The police on Sunday arrested a man for allegedly raping his 13-year-old daughter. He was produced in a local court on Monday, which sent him to the five-day police custody.

According to information, the victim’s mother died a few years ago and her father solemnised the second marriage.

The accused committed the crime two months ago. He threatened the girl of dire consequences if she reported the matter to anyone.

However, the victim narrated the incident to a woman, who approached Neha Dahiya, secretary of the District Legal Services Authority.

Neha Dahiya directed the police to book the man at the earliest. A case had registered in this regard. The medical examination of the victim had also been conducted. — OC
