Chaudhary said the inauguration of a building was like celebrating a new life and that the new academic block would be associated with countless memories. The Registrar said with the moving of the second year BTech students to Kamand, IIT-Mandi was one of the first among the new IITs to completely shift its BTech programme to its permanent campus.

However, the IIT would continue to use the academic building on its Mandi campus for faculty offices and project labs, he added.
