AICC president Rahul Gandhi, while addressing a rally at Una, today alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was fighting as a lone player while the Congress was fighting as team in the current elections.

Team Congress has trapped Modi and he has no help. He has no help because as Prime Minister, Modi always acted unilaterally. He did not take into confidence his team while taking decisions such as demonetization that devastated the economy of the country.

“Gabbar Singh Tax (GST)” was also implemented by Modi unilaterally without taking his team or the public into confidence, he said.

Rahul said that the Congress candidate from Hamirpur parliamentary constituency Ram Lal Thakur has been an international kabaddi player. He knows how to respect his coach and team. However, the Prime Minister treated his coach LK Advani in a shoddy manner. He also neglected his team by ignoring senior ministers like Nitin Gadkari and Sushma Swaraj and tried to run the country singlehandedly that resulted in wrong decisions.

“On the contrary, in the Congress, however, all decisions are taken by team. Virbhadra Singh was a six-time CM of Himachal and is a guru to me”, Rahul Gandhi said.

Adopting an aggressive posture, the Congress president said that Narendra Modi would be finished after parliamentary polls. He egged people on in the rally to raise slogans “Chowkidar Chor Hai”. “I will not respond aggressive to the abuses being hurled on former Prime Minister and my father Rajiv Gandhi by Narendra Modi,” he said.

Rahul said that the Congress manifesto promises Rs 6,000 per month to 5 crore poor families. The party will provide 22 lakh jobs in the first year if voted to power. These decisions, he said, were taken after due deliberations within the Team Congress and the stake holders.

As a mark of respect Rahul escorted the veteran Congress leader Virbhadra Singh to dais for speech. Virbhadra Singh said that Rahul Gandhi would be the Prime Minister as people were fed up with the Modi government. Virbhadra Singh forgot to take name of party candidate Ram Lal Thakur in his address. He introduced Ram Lal Thakur to crowd only after he was asked to do so.

Mukesh Agnihotri, the CLP leader, in his address, targeted Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur. He said that Chief Minister was attacking the AICC president Rahul Gandhi. He should see his stature before attacking Rahul. Even his own chair would be in danger after elections, Agnihotri said.He also accused the BJP candidate from Hamirpur Anurag Thakur of not being able to bring up even a single new road in Una, stalling the IIT project and the Swan canalization project.

Ram Lal Thakur, the Congress candidate from Hamirpur parliamentary constituency, demanded an inquiry into the use of MPLAD funds by Anurag Thakur.
