Monica of Kangra wins Mrs India Tourism title
Palampur, June 18
Monika Sharma of Kangra district has brought laurels to the state by winning Mrs India Tourism title in the ‘Mrs India I Am Powerful’ pageant held in Mumbai.
Out of 45 participants, 25 made it to the grand finale. The competition was held from June 14 to 16. It was organised by an agency in Chandigarh.
She got married to famed Pahari singer Dheeraj Sharma in 2005. Her husband’s singing prowess has been an inspiration and with his support she has participated in various pageants.
Monika, a resident of Majherna village, had also clinched the title Mrs Himachal 2018 held in Manali.
She says her main objective is to empower women. After winning this competition, she will take part in an international competition to be held in Dubai next year. OC
