Kangra, March 23
The voter helpline app has been introduced to provide information regarding voter ID cards, EVM and VVPAT.
Deputy Commissioner Sandeep Kumar said a day-long training camp for master trainers of all Assembly segments of Kangra district was held today and they were directed to provide information regarding polling to presiding officers of each polling booth.
Sandeep Kumar said a committee had been constituted to look into the details of the licensed fire arms and weapons. A three-member committee of the District Magistrate, SP and ASP had been constituted. The committee would screen people out on bail and having licenced weapons, besides people with criminal background. He said only 7,336 licenced weapons had been deposited with police stations till yesterday.
He said polling officers should keep arrangement of drinking water, power supply and toilet facilities in each booth. He directed them to conduct a mock drill of polling in the presence of agents of different political parties at least one hour before the polling started so that normal working of the EVM and VVPAT machines was checked well in advance.
