Maharaja Agrasen University (MAU), Baddi, celebrated “World Tourism Week” from September 20 to 27, where tourism and hospitality students visited the Kalka railway station to welcome international and domestic tourists under the activity “Atithi Devo Bhava”.
“Tourists were elated to receive a warm and unexpected welcome from the students. A tourism walk was also organised as part of the week-long celebrations where nearly 600 students and staff members participated. Various activities like face painting, rangoli, “Incredible India: Present your state”, tourism quiz, collage making and ethnic dress competition marked the occasion.
Vice-Chancellor Prof RK Gupta congratulated the department on the successful completion of the event and gave away prizes to the winners of various contests.
Addressing the students and faculty, Prof Vishal Kumar, Director, PCJ School of Management, said: “This year, the theme of “World Tourism Day” was “Tourism and Jobs: A better future for all” and the department aptly represented it.”
