Bollywood actor Yami Gautam will be the brand ambassador for “Rising Himachal Global Investors’ Meet-2019” to be held in Dharamsala on November 7 and 8.

The state government was in touch with her and a formal communication in this regard was sent to her today. Hailing from Bilaspur and brought up in Chandigarh, the 31-year-old actress will arrive in Dharamsala on November 6 and address investors on November 7. Her film “Bala” is also releasing the same day (November 7), but she is skipping the premier to participate in the major event.

She was selected by India Today’s “Top 50 Change Maker Women of the Year” and is the brand ambassador for Hong-Kong Tourism, Fair & Lovely, Samsung Mobile, Cornetto and Chevrolet.

Industries Minister Bikram Singh said it was good that the state government was roping in Himachalis, who had established themselves in various fields and were willing to contribute to the state.

Investors from over 40 countries and various states are participating in the meet. The state government has already signed MOUs worth Rs 81,319 crore and is close to the target of Rs 85,000 crore.

Yami made her Bollywood debut in 2012 with the film “Vicky Donor” and starred in “Action Jackson”, “Badlapur”, “Sanam Re”, “Kaabil”, “Batti Gul Meter Chalu” and her highest-grossing release came with the action thriller “Uri: The Surgical Strike”.

She made her television debut with “Chand Ke Paar Chalo”, followed by “Raajkumar Aaryyan” and “Yeh Pyar Na Hoga Kam”. The actress also participated in reality shows “Meethi Choori No. 1” and “Kitchen Champion Season 1”.

She aspired to join the Indian Administrative Services (IAS), but at the age of 20, Yami decided to go in for acting. Her father Mukesh Gautam is a Punjabi film director and younger sister Surilie Gautam just made her debut with Punjabi film “Power Cut”. Yami is fond of reading, music and doing interiors.
