The new initiative taken by the state Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department has ensured easy availability of essential commodities to consumers, consumers awareness and strict vigil on functioning of 150 LPG agencies and 374 patrol pumps. A new app has been launched to facilitate ration card holders.
According to the state spokesperson, these initiatives will facilitate ration card holders.
The department will ensure quality of essential items at subsidised rates to over 70 lakh consumers mainly those located in far-flung and remotest areas.
The consumers can download the app on their mobile phone by searching ePDSHP from play store and download it.
After downloading the app the consumer will have to enter/scan their mobile and Aadhar number.
Food, Civil Supplies and Consumers Affairs Minister Kishan Kapoor said the department had developed its website www.hpwn.hp.gov.in for registration and notification to benefit businessmen. The department has directed owners of LPG agencies and petrol stations to provide essential supplies of commodities in the remote areas of the state. The consumers have lodged 856 complaints through a toll-free number 1967 most of which have been redressed, claimed the department.
Madan Chauhan, Director, PDS, said the department had received 856 calls through the toll-free number so far and efforts were made to redress all complaints immediately.
The inspectors deployed in the field are immediately informed regarding the complaint of the consumers and directed to submit the action-taken report to the Directorate, he added.
