Shimla, January 22
A new division of Public Works Department (PWD) and Irrigation and Public health (IPH) would be opened at Jaswan Pragpur, besides opening of IPH Sub Division at Rakkar in Kangra district, said Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur while addressing a public meeting at Kotla Behar in Kangra district through video conferencing from Shimla.
The Chief Minister was scheduled to make a tour of Jaswan Pragpur Assembly Constituency today, but could not make it due to heavy snowfall at Shimla.
Thakur also announced a fire station in industrial Area Sansarpur Terrace and upgrade of the Government Middle School Kasba Jagir to Government High School.
Thakur said that the government was ensuring balanced and uniform development of all the areas with special focus on those areas which had remained neglected due to one reason or the other.
He said that Sansarpur Terrace was hub of industrial activities and government was committed to providing all basic amenities in the area for entrepreneurs. The government was encouraging only those industrial units which were eco friendly and had immense potential for providing employment and self employment avenues to the youth, he added.
Earlier, Industries Minister Vikram Singh laid the foundation stones of a Model ITI at Sansarpur Terrace, inter-state connectivity bridge at Amroh to be constructed at a cost of Rs 62 crore and of Government Degree College, Kotla Behar, on behalf of the Chief Minister. MP Anurag Thakur, Vice Chairman, State Planning Board Ramesh Dhawala and MLA Gagret Rajesh Thakur were also present at Kotla Behar.
