Vidhan Sabha Speaker, Dr Rajiv Bindal, on Saturday said the Modi-led government had sanctioned Rs 400 crore for constructing the campus of the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) at Dhaulan Kuan in Sirmaur district. He said it was a big gift for the people of Sirmaur and expressed gratitude for it. The construction of the campus would enhance their status.
The IIM, which is operating from a temporary campus, is providing two-year postgraduate in management. The institute was sanctioned in the Union Budget of 2014 and was inaugurated in September 2015 which led to the commencement of its first batch. A 200-acre site near Dhaula Kuan was approved by the Human Resource Ministry in March 2015 for setting up its permanent campus and sanction of Rs 400 crore will now pave the way for its construction. — TNS
