Shoolini varsity’s off-campus centres soon

Shoolini University will set up four off-campus centres at Solan, Shimla, Mandi and Paonta Sahib with MoUs having been signed by the university management with the government during the recent mini- conclave at Shimla.
Interacting with mediapersons here today, PK Khosla, Vice-Chancellor, said, “These institutes will provide undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral education in various disciplines like sciences, engineering, liberal arts, hotel management, information technology, nanotechnology, yoga and naturopathy, pharmacy, etc.”
“Special emphasis will be laid on research on sustainable utilization and conservation of the Himalayan biodiversity, hospitality and tourism, yoga and naturopathy, information technology, etc. and they will further strengthen the research base of the university”, added Khosla.
The VC said since the university has completed 10 years of its existence it can opt for off campus centres as per the UGC regulations. An investment of Rs 100 crores in the first five years is slated to be for these campuses. Each campus will generate employment for about 300 persons.— TNS
