The relatives of deceased Mohit Kumar held a chakka jam on the Chandigarh-Manali road at Sundernagar for two hours on Sunday. The suicide case of deceased Mohit Kumar took new turn as his family alleged foul play behind his death.

According to the police, Mohit Kumar had jumped into the BSL canal at Sundernagar on June 28. His body was yet to be recovered.

Agitated relatives gathered at Sundernagar and blocked the road. Sundernagar DSP and SDM rushed to the spot to pacify the protesters. The family of the deceased accused the police of hushing up the case.

SDM Rahul Chauhan and DSP Taranjeet Singh assured the family of the deceased that a thorough investigation will be conducted in this case to nab the culprit if it turned out to be a murder case. The DSP stated that justice will be done to the family of the deceased. — OC
