The Centre for Research and Education for Social Transformation (CREST) started an eight-day workshop for graduate medical students here on Wednesday at Dr Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College, Tanda.
The focus of the workshop is to impart knowledge and skills to first-year MBBS students to face educational, cultural and socio-economic challenges. Dr Bhanu Awasthi, Principal, Tanda medical college, said this here.
He further said when students entered the medical profession they felt stressed not only mentally and physically but also emotionally, therefore, such workshops at the beginning proved beneficial.
Dr Awasthi said 100 medical students studying in the first year were participating at the workshop.
The workshop is carried out by the faculty from CREST, an autonomous institution started by the Government of Kerala, The overall objective of the programme is to improve the performance and aspiration levels of the students.
