Train to Daulatpur Chowk from July

The Railways has notified the extension of the route of the daily passenger train running between Ambala Cantonment and Amb-Andaura by 16 kilometre from 1 July.
The train will now run between Ambala and Daulatpur Chowk station. The Daulatpur Chowk station was commissioned before the Lok Sabha elections.
Chintpurni Marg, where the passengers will have a scheduled halt, is located on the additional new route and will provide a cheap and comfortable travel to the devotees visiting the shrine. As per a press note issued today by the Senior Divisional Commercial Manager of the Ambala Division, a passenger train will start from the Daulatpur Chowk station at 5.25 am and reach Ambala at 11.35 am.
On its return journey, a train will start from Ambala at 2.30 pm and reach Daulatpur Chowk station at 8.30 pm every day. The single journey full passenger fare will be Rs 45, which is at least six times cheaper than the bus fare.
Minister of State for Finance and Corporate Affairs Anurag Thakur will inaugurate the extension of the train through video-conferencing from Delhi at 5.25 am on July 1, while Gagret MLA Rajesh Thakur will be present at the Daulatpur Chowk station at the same time to flag off the train.
Only one train, the daily Himachal Express to Delhi, is, at present, reaching Daulatpur Chowk via Una and the new passenger train to Ambala Cantt via Una and Chandigarh will provide additional rail connectivity to the people of Gagret and Chintpurni Assembly segments.
