“Music is God’s gift and comes with great patience.” This has come true for two upcoming talents from Solan whose dedication and perseverance paid off as they cleared the audition test and made it to the “Rising Star season 2 - singing competition” – a realty show to be telecast on Colours TV channel.

Kanak Joshi (26) and Kuldeep Chandel (21), who are busy in getting their songs recorded, a pre-requisite for Mumbai auditions, will visit Mumbai between December 14 and 18. Both have been friends for the past five years and while Kanak adore the fact of Kuldeep being well-trained in Classical, Kuldeep likes the natural flow in Kanak’s voice.

Kanak had made his public debut at the tender age of four with the song “Sandeshe aate hain...” from “Border” and the singer rose to fame after winning the “Pepsi Banja Star Yaar contest” held at an all-India level in 2002.

He was out of the world of music for a few years after the tragic death of his father at 9 years but his mother Seema Joshi, the guiding spirit behind him, encouraged Kanak to pursue his father’s cherished dream to become an accomplished playback singer.

Passionate for Sufi and semi-classical music, Mohammed Rafi and Sonu Nigam are the role models for Kanak, who is also the winner of Talent Hunt 2000, Rafi Nite, Rainy Festival and Voice of Himachal, 2012. Inclined towards classical and semi-classical, Kuldeep has been singing since he was 10-year-old. He was one of the 30 finalists in the Little Champs 2011 and is pursuing MA Music from Himachal Pradesh University. “My dream is to be a singer and ambition is to be a professor of music”, says Kuldeep, a follower of Sonu Nigam. My father loves music and he is my inspiration and motivation.
