Two girls jump into Sutlej, bodies found

Two minor girls allegedly committed suicide by jumping into the Sutlej from the Jagatkhana bridge in the Nirmand area of this district today. The police said a team of the police carried out a search operation and the bodies of the victims were recovered.
ASI Gopal said the victims were from Kotsar village in Nirmand subdivision and were studying in a Rampur school in Class VII. The bodies had been sent for the post-mortem examination. The police are investigating the reasons behind such an extreme step and investigations are under way, police sources said.
