Prof Ashok Kumar Sarial, Vice-Chancellor, CSK Himachal Pradesh Agriculture University, has been honoured with the Best Teacher Award at the CCS, Haryana Agricultural University (HAU). The award, consisting of Rs 10,000, a trophy and a citation was awarded to Sarial by Prof KP Singh, Vice-Chancellor, HAU, Hisar, at an impressive ceremony.
He appreciated the dedication and commitment of Sarial towards the teaching profession and students. It was informed that Sarial was serving as a Professor (genetics & plant breeding) at HAU before his selection as the Vice-Chancellor in August 2016. Singh said Prof Sarial had made significant contributions to teaching and research and motivated his students to opt for plant breeding. As a result, nine of 17 gold medals were bagged by his students during his tenure at HAU. Fifty per cent of his students were selected for international fellowships to pursue higher studies in high-ranking foreign institutions.
