Justice Abhilasha Kumari was sworn in as the Chief Justice of the Manipur High Court on Friday. Manipur Governor Najma Heptulla administered the oath.

Justice Kumari was elevated to the top post on Tuesday.

Justice Kumari, a resident of Himachal Pradesh, is the daughter of former Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh.

Justice Kumari obtained the law degree from HP University. She joined the Bar in 1984 and practised in the HP High Court. — ANI

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
