Woman ends life in Mandi

MANDI: A woman committed suicide in Mandi district.

A woman committed suicide in Mandi district. She was admitted at Zonal Hospital, Mandi, for medical treatment. The woman was pregnant and was having complications.

The victim was identified as Lalita (28), a native of Tramath village under Sundernagar subdivision. Confirming the report, Gurdev Chand Sharma, SP, Mandi, said the victim was admitted to Zonal Hospital since May 10. She was having complications. According to preliminary information, doctors on duty suggested the victim to abort the foetus, after which the victim went into a depression. “She fled from the hospital premises on Monday night and her family informed the police and the hospital authority. The police tried locating the victim, but could not trace her. On Tuesday, her body was found hanging from a tree, close to the hospital premises” he remarked.

He said a case had been registered and the police was investigating the case from all angles.
