The construction of Government Senior Secondary School building in Sanjauli will start soon and Rs 8 crore has been sanctioned for the project. At the annual prize distribution function of the school, Education Minister Suresh Bhardwaj said the function was held in the presence of parents, teachers and students. He exhorted students to stay away from drugs, urging their parents keep a watch on them.

Constitution Day celebrated 

Constitution Day was celebrated at KV Jutogh Cantt, Shimla. Assistant professor, Government College, Sanjauli, Kishori Lal Chandel was the guest of honour. Students of primary classes presented a dance and a group song. Tamanna and Akriti (both from Class IX) delivered speeches on the importance of Constitution Day. Veer Chand, principal, KV Jutogh Cantt, presented a memento to the guest.

Four-day painting exhibition 

A four-day painting exhibition by the students of the department of painting was organised at Rajkiya Kanya Mahavidyalaya (RKMV) on Tuesday. The exhibition was inaugurated by Chief Minister’s wife Dr Sadhana Thakur. Twenty students put up about 120 paintings. Many works include landscapes, portraits, still life and abstract compositions. The artworks explore unconventional painting techniques such as realism, impressionism and multi-patterns. For a majority of the paintings, the use of colours is vibrant yet harmonious. The students tried to depict different emotional aspects of humans, animals and nature.

Prize distribution function

Tripta Public School (Jawali) held its seventh annual prize distribution function. The theme of the annual function was “FIT INDIA”.  Vikas Kumar, branch manager, SBI, Jawali, was the chief guest. The programme commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the chief guest. Principal Rakesh Rana welcomed the chief guest and shared the school’s annual report. This was followed by some cultural activities and the prize distribution ceremony. 

Kritika wins gold in long jump

Kritika, a Class X student of Adarsh Senior Secondary School, Pragpur, brought laurels to the school by winning a gold medal in long jump in the state-level tournament held in Hamirpur. Principal Gagan Sood congratulated Kritika, who has been selected for the national-level tournaments. Principal Gagan Sood, vice-principal Pawan Sood and all school teachers congratulated her.
