Chamba, November 19
The Shimla circle of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) inaugurated the seven-day long World Heritage Week – 2018 at the centrally protected monument Champavati temple here today.
Dr Vinod Kumar, former Director of Health Services, was invited as the chief guest for the function. Retired Colonel Ravindra Singh Dogra presided as the guest of honour.
The ASI Conservation Assistant, Chamba, SD Bhatt said, "World Heritage Week is celebrated every year with the sole objective to raise awareness among school and college students and to encourage them to come forward in preservation and protection of our rich heritage.
As many as 87 students from various schools participated in painting and essay-writing competition.
