Earlier in the day, Honeypreet submitted a bail application in court — four days after sedition charges were dropped against her and 39 others.

Honeypreet and others were charged with conspiracy for having allegedly planned the violence at a meeting at the Dera Sacha Sauda headquarters in Sirsa in the event of Ram Rahim's conviction in a rape case.

Honeypreet has been in judicial custody in Ambala jail since she was arrested in October 2017.

Ram Rahim’s guilty verdict in a rape case in August 2017 sparked off violence that killed more than 30 people—most of them the so-called godman’s own followers.
