AT the meetings of the Imperial Legislative Council on the 15th and 16th September, no less than nine resolutions will be taken up for consideration. Mr. W.E. Crum will raise the question of removing the Calcutta Mint to another site and also press for the immediate consideration of electrification of suburban railways within twenty-five miles of Calcutta, and the improvement of local passenger transport and terminal facilities. Sir Dinshaw Wacha will move for a committee of the Council to investigate to what extent profiteering is prevalent in India, specially in clothing and foodstuffs. At the meeting of the 17th and 18th Bills to amend the Sea Customs Act, Provident Act, the Indian Naturalisation Act, the Indian Tariff Act and the Calcutta High Court Jurisdiction Bill will be considered and passed. Sir William Vincent will introduce the Indemnity Bill and also the Workmen’s Breach of Contract Act Amendment Bill.
