“The movie doesn’t glorify me at any stage but shows my journey from a small town to the world of international cricket’, said Indian Cricket team captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni while releasing the trailer of his upcoming movie “M S Dhoni—An Untold Story at the Lovely Professional University at Phagwara on Wednesday.
Adrenalin level rushed high and the excitement was nothing less than a nail- biting cricket match between India and Pakistan as soon ‘Mr Cool’ arrived on stage with his ever-present smile that increased the heartbeats of students who were shouting his name, seeing him ‘live’ on stage.
While launching the trailer along with Mr Cool, producer Arun Pandey said that Jalandhar was selected for the launch as Dhoni began his cricketing career from this city.
“He travelled to this city in train to buy his first bat and that is why we have decided to launch the trailer of his biopic here in the city,” said Pandey. He said that what made the cricketer different from others is his ‘humbleness’ which leaves an everlasting impact on people.
Also acknowledging the power of Punjabi balle, Dhoni said that Jalandhar holds a very important place in every cricketer’s life as it produces world-quality cricket bats.
“The international players get scared even with the thought of facing the bats with Made in Jalandhar tag and that is why the city witnesses frequent visits of international batsmen every now and then,” said the cricketer who donned a new hair style.
Also, appreciating actor Sushant Singh Rajput, who plays his character in the movie, Dhoni said that the actor actually worked like a professional cricketer for over nine months to fit into his shoes and to justify his role from a small town boy to becoming the cricketing sensation in the world. “He is awesome in the movie and he made me re-live every single moment of my life spent so far,” said the cricketer.
When asked about to name his successor, Dhoni said that such decisions are not taken in a haste. “Apart from hardworking and honest, my successor would have to be practical and should be in love with the Indian culture,” said the heartthrob of millions across the world.
He also played his much-acclaimed ‘helicopter shot’ on the request of the students and launched the MS Dhoni scholarship scheme introduced by the LPU for deserving sportspersons in the country.
While revealing his success mantra to the students, the cricketer said that one should not focus on the results but on the process as a well-planned process only can bear desired results.
The movie is all set to release on September 30.
