As the tale goes, Surpanaka, Raavan’s sister whose nose Lakshman cuts when she tries to attract Lakshman. But there is more to Surpanaka that not many are aware of. Through this show, the makers are trying to bring to light the unseen facet of all characters associated with the Ramayana. Shedding light on her role, Sara said, “For me personally, the language was the biggest issue because I have a strong British accent and saying words in Sanskrit was going to be tough for me. I took on this challenge because this show is being made on a really huge scale.”

The actress added, “I believe I was destined to play this character because not long ago I was hosting a travel show and the very first place we visited for the show was Naasik and we showcased Surpanaka’s story since that is the place where her nose got cut. I researched in detail for the episode and look where I landed myself…playing the same role. Nothing could be more exciting than this.”
