Trained And Tested: Rohan Rai

Actors, somehow, do not end up looking too convincing while playing a music instrument on TV—a mistake that can easily be caught by the audience. But there are rare actors who go the extra mile in order to do justice to their role by learning how to play these instruments. One amongst these actors is Rohan Rai who recently made his debut on the small screen with primetime show Piya Albela.

Rohan, who plays the role of female protagonist Pooja’s brother Anuj, has a hidden talent. The actor knows how to play musical instruments and the knack for picking up new ones in no time. Learning to play instruments right since he was 4 years old, Rohan has mastered the congo, bongo, djembe, flute, and harmonium. The actor hadn’t had the opportunity to learn the tabla until he had to shoot a sequence in Piya Albela where he is seen playing one. We love your spirit Rohan!
