Newbie Pearl V Puri, who is currently seen essaying the role of a popular VJ, Abeer Malhotra in Star Plus’ show, Phir Bhi Naa Maane…Badtameez Dil has been living away from his family ever since he decided he wanted to be a part of the glamour world. Pearl’s father, who is not at all supportive of Pearl’s career choice hasn’t spoken to his son in the last few years.
It’s only his mother who is enjoying her son’s taste of success. Says Pearl, “I hail from Agra and it has been five years since I’ve been in Mumbai. My father has cut all ties with me because I chose to be an actor against his wishes. He was always sure that I wouldn’t be able to make it on my own and wanted me to come back to join the family business. I did go back and work with him, but I knew where my heart lies.”
The coy actor added, “For me it was fairly easy to connect with the back story of Abeer because even on the show, my on-screen father doesn’t approve of his son being a VJ, even more so because he is a renowned industrialist and has his own business as well.” It’s the same scenario both on and off screen for this young actor, who is on his way to stardom!
