Best known for his role as Maester Aemon in historical fiction series Game Of Thrones, British actor Peter Vaughan passed away on Monday, at the age of 93.
His agent Sally Long-Innes, in an official statement, confirmed the actor’s sad demise.
“This is to confirm that Peter Vaughan passed away at approximately 10.30 this morning. He died peacefully with his family around him,” the statement read.
The actor had a career spanning over 75 years in theatre, television and film.
Some of the most acclaimed on-screen portrayals by him include the ‘genial’ Harry Grout in Porridge, the father of Anthony Hopkins’s character in The Remains of the Day and Billy Fox in the Thames Television. — ANI
