“It’s a lifetime honour. I owe gratitude to Nutan Pryaas Manch and its organisers for choosing me for the award. Kavi Rattan was the doyen of modern theatre in the state under whose direction every artiste wanted to work. He was an institution in itself,” Ifra said.

Meanwhile, young theatre actor and director Aaditya Bhanu’s two plays “Ghonsla” and “Main Damini Bol Rahi Hun” were also staged at the festival.

Speaking on the occasion, Aaditya said, “Indeed it is an honour to be a part of the festival. My two plays were dedicated to Kavi Rattan ji,” Aaditya said.

Aaditya’s ‘Main Damini Bol Rahi Hun’ was earlier produced many times by different directors and has been funded by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India.
