25 teachers suspended for 'poor performance'
Rajouri: The Joint Director, School Education, Rajouri, has placed under suspension 25 teachers for their “poor performance and lackadaisical attitude” towards their duties. Joint Director Abdul Hamid on Wednesday paid a surprise visit to Government Higher Secondary School and Government High School at Thanamandi and Azmatabad, respectively, in Rajouri. After a detailed inspection and interacting with students, he found some teachers doing their work casually. “Besides the poor academic standard of the students at the schools, the erring teachers have not assigned or checked the homework of the students for months together and they were not sincere towards their official engagements,” said Hamid. After the inspection, the Joint Director issued orders, suspending 12 teachers from Thanamandi and 13 from Azmatabad. He also constituted a three-member committee to conduct an inquiry into the matter. OC
