Srinagar, June 29
The government on Friday transferred Shopian Superintendent of Police (SP) Shailendra Kumar Mishra and in his place posted Sandeep Choudhary as the new chief of the district.
Since 2016, Mishra is the fifth police chief of the south Kashmir district, who has been shifted. The district has become a hotbed of militants and witnessed an uptick in violence over the years.
Mishra has been asked to report to Police Headquarters till his order of posting is issued.
Also, Bhim Sen Tuti has been posted as Deputy Inspector General (DIG), Jammu Kathua-Samba Range, in place of Rafeeq-ul-Hassan. Tuti shall also hold the additional charge of the post of the DIG, Udhampur-Reasi, Range, till further orders, said an order issued by Principal Secretary, Home Department, RK Goyal.
Hassan has been posted as the DIG, Doda-Kishtwar-Ramban Range, against an available vacancy.
Senior Superintendent of Police, CID Headquarters, Rajeshwar Singh has been transferred and posted as Additional Inspector General (Personnel) at Police Headquarters vice Aftab Ahmad Kakroo who has been transferred and posted as the SSP, CID Headquarters. — TNS
