The prize-distribution ceremony of the 1st Edition of the Confederation of Indian Industry’s (CII) annual golf tournament was held at Jammu Tawi Golf Course in Sidhra. Governor NN Vohra took part in the inaugural as well as the closing ceremony.

Vohra also played nine holes. The CII has organised this tournament in collaboration with the J&K Golf Association in which 80 golfers from the civil society, Army and the industrial sector participated.

The Governor stressed the importance of sports and games and observed that these should be an integral part of our lives as they promote health and a positive orientation of the people at large.

Vohra suggested that such competitions should be held regularly and in future, and should also involve school and college students. —TNS
