Legislative Assembly Speaker Kavinder Gupta on Monday reviewed the ongoing renovation works on the complex and the MLA hostel in Srinagar in the view of the shifting of the Durbar offices on May 7.

The Speaker was accompanied by J&K Legislative Complex secretary Mulk Raj Singh, under secretary Zubair Qari and other officials. He was briefed about the status of the renovation work and assured that the works would be completed before the Durbar move.

The Speaker also reviewed the works being undertaken at the MLA hostel. He appreciated the pace of work and stressed the need to augment basic amenities and other facilities. He directed the officials to formulate a proposal to construct lift facilities in the hostel to mitigate problems faced by elderly persons.
