Gulab Singh’s birth anniv celebrated

The birth anniversary of Maharaja Gulab Singh, the founder of royal Dogra dynasty and first Maharaja of the J&K, was celebrated by Yuva Rajput Sabha here today.

A function was held on the premises of the SMGS Hospital wherein the sabha members garlanded the statue of Maharaja Gulab Singh.

Led by Rajveer Singh, the activists vowed to guard the state from evil forces. Speaking on the occasion, Rajveer Singh threw light on the life and achievements of Maharaja Gulab Singh.

Lashing out at the alleged Kashmir-centric approach of the successive governments, Rajveer Singh said: “Maharaja Gulab Singh was the king of Jammu, who purchased Kashmir and also annexed Ladakh to form the state of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh.
