Guv congratulates Sahitya Akademi Award winners

JAMMU: Governor NN Vohra has congratulated Shiv Mehta and Autar Krishen Rahbar for getting the Sahitya Akademi Annual Awards for 2017 and Yash Raina and Iqbal Nazki for receiving the Sahitya Akademi Prize for Translation 2017.

Governor NN Vohra has congratulated Shiv Mehta and Autar Krishen Rahbar for getting the Sahitya Akademi Annual Awards for 2017 and Yash Raina and Iqbal Nazki for receiving the Sahitya Akademi Prize for Translation 2017.

Mehta and Rahbar have been awarded for their short stories ‘Banna’ and ‘Yeli Parda Woth’ in the Dogri and Kashmiri languages, respectively.

Raina has been awarded the Sahitya Akademi Prize for Translation for ‘Pichhlag’ — the Dogri translation of Gujarati novel ‘Angaliat’ — and Nazki has won the prize for ‘Araam Kursi’ — the Kashmiri translation of Tamil novel ‘Chaivu Narkali’.

The Governor has greeted the winners and wished them continuing success in their future endeavours.
