Poles installed by private telecom company removed

The estate wing of the Municipal Corporation (MC) removed illegal poles installed by a telecommunication company on various locations of the city on Thursday.

Estate wing officials said they had noticed a day before yesterday that telecom company Reliance Jio had installed poles for fiber cable on various locations without prior approval of the Municipal Corporation.

After investigating the matter, the officials under the supervision of Estate Officer removed and seized illegal poles from Lawrence Road and Dasunda Singh Road.

Sushant Bhatia, Estate Officer, said, “We have issued instruction to civil wing employees that if they find any such illegal pole installed by private company, report it immediately. The action would be taken as per the law”.
