The birth anniversary of Maharaja Gulab Singh, the founder of royal Dogra dynasty and first Maharaja of the J&K, was celebrated by Young Panthers today.
Led by Partap Singh Jamwal, state vice-president, Young Panthers, the activists vowed to guard the state from evil forces. Speaking on the occasion, Partap Singh threw light on the life and achievements of Maharaja Gulab Singh.
Lashing out at the alleged Kashmir-centric approach of the successive governments, Partap Singh said, “Maharaja Gulab Singh was the king of Jammu, who purchased Kashmir and also annexed Ladakh to form the state of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh.
He said the Young Panthers stood for reorganisation of Jammu & Kashmir and not for the dissolution of the present state into two union territories.
He further said the Young Panthers stood for ‘twin states’ in Jammu & Kashmir namely that of Kashmir valley & Jammu state, both of which shall function as a confederation.
