Ministers lay stone of road to AIIMS site

JAMMU: Minister for Public Works Naeem Akhter and Minister for Industries and Commerce Chander Parkash Ganga today laid the foundation stone for the construction of the approach road to the proposed site for AIIMS at Vijaypur.

Minister for Public Works Naeem Akhter and Minister for Industries and Commerce Chander Parkash Ganga today laid the foundation stone for the construction of the approach road to the proposed site for AIIMS at Vijaypur.

Samba MLA Devinder Kumar Manyal, Deputy Commissioner Sheetal Nanda, senior functionaries of the Roads and Bridges Department and a large number of locals were present at the foundation-laying ceremony.

Addressing the people, the ministers reiterated the resolve of the government to improve living conditions of the people by providing best services and development of neglected areas.

They said being the key to socio-economic development, the road connectivity to each and every habitation was being given priority by the state government. They said the government was for equitable development to ensure that the aspirations of people of every area could be met without any discrimination.

Earlier, the ministers inspected the site for the construction of the proposed Bari Brahmana-Badhori to Kaluchak-Parmandal road.

The ministers directed the engineers concerned to conduct a detailed survey to finalise the alignment of the proposed road and start eviction of encroachments, if any.
