The fire broke out around 10 am. Fire brigade teams immediately took positions and controlled the fire within an hour. However, one team is still at the site for monitoring the situation.

“Our teams took action within no time and we controlled the fire in an hour. To take precautionary measures, one team is still there to monitor the situation,” said RT Dubety, Joint Director, Fire Services.

He said some wooden pillars had been burnt but the Toshakhana Complex, where the precious historical belongings had been stored, was safe.
