Bharatiya Kala Sangam (BKS) organised a folk dance festival, under grant-in-aid from Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi, at KL Sehgal Hall, Abhinav Theatre, Jammu.

Baldev Singh Billawaria, chairman of public health and sanitation committee, JMC, was the chief guest. He lauded the efforts of the BKS to promote and develop Dogri folk songs and dances, besides making the younger generation understand and come close to the heritage values.

He said the values of culture cannot be glossed over as it is very necessary to keep people of different faiths, religions and communities together. Sars Bharti, daughter of renowned folk singer Romal Ram, presented a Dogri dance on the occasion.
